What is Hammer Fist and is it really effective ?

 

What is Hammerfist?

A strike with the bottom of a clenched fist, using an action like swinging a hammer, but can also be used horizontally like a backfist strike using the bottom fist.

This strike will not damage the bones of the hands as there is no compression of the knuckles or metacarpals.

Most of Martial Arts systems include hammerfist with different technique and maybe different name.Hammer fist can be deadly if you use it right technique.

How to use Hammerfist?

This is real application of Hammer fist from Glen Levy (ninjutsu expert).

At Fight Science is a television program shown on the National Geographic Channel between 2006 and 2010,the so-called "death punch" performed by ninjutsu expert Glen Levy was mostly confirmed. Delivering a precise type of hammer-fist blow to the chest deflected the ribcage 2 inches into the chest cavity, causing damage measuring 0.8 in Viscous Criterion (a measurement of soft-tissue damage).
